Gordon J. Weir, B.A., M.A., LL.B. Mr. Weir is a specialist in the practice of Labour Relations and
Employment Law. He represents companies, public sector employers, managers
and executives in both a consulting and legal capacity. Mr. Weir has
developed expertise in all facets of human resources and employment related
functions, with particular emphasis upon:
- Counsel on matters pertaining to termination of managerial and
executive employees;
- Strategy and development of severance packages related to corporate
reorganization, mergers, amalgamations and closures;
- Negotiation
of collective agreements and contracts of employment;
- Representation of employers and executives in wrongful dismissal
and employment law;
- litigation and mediation;
- Representation as counsel before Boards of Arbitration on all
employment related matters;
- Counsel before provincial employment tribunals including Employment
Standards Referees, Human Rights Boards, Occupational Health and Safety
Adjudicators and Pay Equity Tribunals;
- Training and development of positive employment policies, practices
and manuals.
