Court remedies for wrongful dismissal can be made in either the Small Claims Court or the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. The monetary jurisdiction at this time for the Small Claims Court in Ontario is $25,000, and cases which are under that limit should be pursued through the Small Claims Court.

For claims in excess of $25,000, two types of procedures can be employed in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. They are simplified procedure or ordinary procedure.
